I’m Kelly Shuster, also known as Kio Krofovitch around the internet. I’m an engineering leader who also loves Android development.
I’m currently the Director of Android UI at Netflix, leading the brilliant teams responsible for the Netflix Android experience that is love by millions of people around the globe! Previously I was the Director of Engineering for the Growth group at Ibotta, leading a team of over 70 engineers and managers who built Ibotta’s Android app, iOS app, website, and browser extension. I joined Ibotta in 2016 as Android developer #2, and transitioned into leadership after a few years. Before Ibotta I spent time consulting, and also did Android for a medical startup, iTriage, that was acquired by Aetna.
My degree is in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and I worked in embedded firmware before switching over to mobile development. I was a Google Developer Expert for Android from 2015-2021 and the Director of Women Who Code, Denver from 2014-2017. I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned by speaking around the world and publishing on my blog.
Outside of tech, I enjoy playing with my 3 kiddos, music, ballet, and personal finance.
